Thanks for all the advice on the other threads - have decided to go for this one from you know where.. :)

Have had an offer accepted and gonna have a look at it tomorrow and subject to it being all ok I shall pick it up next weekend.. :D

It's an '05 MG TF 160 with <15k miles, 1 owner with a hard top included.

Have also stuck a grand in the bank for the inevitable HGF and a few toys :)

Would have preferred a Grey one but I like the Silver as well, it also has the half leather / alcantara interior which I wanted..

What you think - should help me rekindle the MLC nicely

Looks nice :)

Cheap roof down fun, I do like these a fair bit. is it true you can fit Lotus parts to this to get more umph out of it for not that much cash outlay?

The Lotus K series VHDP head and throttle bodies from an Exige will fit I believe.

Cheap however they are not.

Two questions:

1) How much?

2) Did you consider an MX-5?

Well, bit premature to say until the V5 is in my hand but let's just say I had a max of 7k to spend on a minter and it's under budget ;)

I did have a quick look at MX-5's but tbh they don't really appeal, bet you gonna say look what you could get for that which is cool, would be interesed to see

Detest them with a passion, awful driving position that makes you feel like you're sitting on it not in it and rubbery ride with lack of sporting feel and balance. I would take an MX5 over one of these without a second thought!

But its not my car and I really hope you enjoy it.

Pretty much what I was trying to put across in the thread he made prior to this, albeit not as abruptly :p

The reason I was so amazed at his choice was because of his previous history of cars, majority of which have been drivers cars.

But all the same, enjoy.

I personally like the look of the MG over the Mx5, but the car underneath and the reliability matters the most.

According to wise buyers guides.co.uk

MG got 3/5 stars

Mx5 got 5/5 stars

But it's your money and it's too late to turn back now.

Must admit I'm confused for the same reasons. It seems strange that somebody who obviously likes a drivers car has put looks first

I'd take an MX5 over one any day of the week :)

Having said that, it does seem like a nice example, enjoy :)
