New car misting windows

I’ve recently brought an X-type and for the life of me I cannot stop the front window from misting/steaming up.
Firstly I used window cleaner. I then used some special anti mist formula which still did absolutely nothing.
The only thing that clears is it to constantly drive round with the A/C on, which I don’t really want to do for various reasons.
Any suggestions? Could it be a damn pollen filter or something?

Cant help by why dont you want to drive with the air con on? I never turn mine off!

Fuel comsumption mainly, plus this time of year A/C isnt really needed.

Using full heat doesnt have any effect either.

Don't the X-Types have the heating built into the screen? Have you tried turning that on?

I use washing up liquid, helps greatly.

Does it? tell me more?
Just clean the windows with washing up liquid?

Is it full climate control, or just basic 'air con'..

I say this because a lot of newer climate systems will automatically use re-circ a lot more to maintain heat in the cabin, and for other reasons..

And also Air Conditioning acts as a dehumidifier, and removes moisture from the air, so having it on has more then just a cooling effect..

I've tried the just heater approach and then air-con approach to demisting, air-con is 10 times faster (rule of thumb 10 times that is)..

Full climate control
Re-circ stays off the whole time (checked that)
Using full heat has no effect at all not even a little.

Is any of the carpets wet in the car?

No I get in the car in the morning to clear windows, having all fans off slows the process of fogging, but every-one knows thats means its going to start sooner or later anyway.

In my Golf, a damp pollen filter is usually the cause (known/common fault).

b) Switch the AC off and leave it off for long enough to dry the condenser.

c) Learn that using a 2.5 V6 as a 'runaround' when you have a Jag XJR is the most pointless thing in the world and will cost you more than it saves, sell the Mondeo.. sorry X Type immediatly and use your XJR

Using the "Mondeo" does save me a considerable amount of money, even including Tax, MOT's and Insurance. My boss has a Arnage T, the XJR is about 3/5MPG more efficient.....that’s it. They really didn’t consider fuel consumption when making the XJR.

(not including MOT's or breakdowns/faults)
£5000 to buy the X-type was out of my own pocket (no loans).

Cost running XJR on its own
Insurance £57 PM
Tax £16.60 PM
Petrol £350 PM
TOTAL £423.60 PM

Cost running both XJR and X-Type
Insurance £79 PM
Tax £33.30 PM
Petrol £200 PM
TOTAL £312.30 PM

Saving £1335.60 per year.

I know you've worked it out and you feel it's best but have you taken into account that you have two lots of depreciation, servicing, mot, wear & tear aswell as what you have priced for?

Agreed depreciation hasnt been taking into account, and on Jaguars I dont think I want to
