New car recommendations - 9-12k

They are fantastic but make sure it's low enough mileage to buy a GOOD warranty.

Also if you are going to stretch yourself to it bear in mind a set of tyres is £700, etc etc. Just because its a diesel doesn't mean you get low running costs.

Fox: Are 2005 or 2006 E46 330ci coupe's really that bad a deal? They can't be picked up for around £8k to £9k for a decent example?

Is it the maintenance and fuel savings that lean you towards recommending the E92 330i over a late E46 330ci coupe?

Does the higher depreciation on the larger initial outlay (>£15k for a pre-LCI E92?) end up the better deal because of the lower maintenance and fuel costs?

I'll have to have a look for myself but is the pre-facelift E92 really that awful to look at?

The prefacelift E92 is gorgeous to look at, do you mean the E90? You wont get an E92 330i for anything like 10k, E92 is the 2006-Present Coupe.

Its on 47k - is that low enough? I'm aware of the tyre costs - I don't get much change out of £600 for a set of tyres for my civic.

Anything else I should look out for? Only options on this one seem to be heated leather and bluetooth.

Its an auto as well, which I was very impressed with!

Yes 47k is fine, you'll be able to buy the BMW Comprehensive warranty for about £530 with zero excess. It's 60k thats the danger zone!

How much is it?

I would be very concerned at that price, Feb 11 Glass's has a 43k 330d M Sport Auto with leather and 'desireable metallic paint' at £17725 retail £15225 trade. So it sounds like its barely above trade money. I'd be wonderng why, it's a very very desireable car and the fact it hasnt got Satnav alone isnt enough to explain its price (Infact the book prices dont include nav on the saloons).

Have you a link to the advert? See if we can spot anything iffy :p

Is the iDrive a must have for the E92 for re-sale? I'm looking at the pre-LCI ones like Unlight. Advice on options would be much appreciated.

[EDIT: Just seen your reply Fox. There are quite a few E92 examples on the trader for £15.5k+]

A decent engined E92 Coupe is worth £2k less without iDrive/Navigation. If you are looking at £8-9k 330Ci's you might be in for a shock because a decent E92 costs rather more than this...
