Just starting to look at replacing my current car, (99plate Mondeo 2.0, 72k) and have seen the following advertised in my local autotrader.

BMW 325i Sport - 2001 Y reg, 101k, Imola Red, 18" alloys, M-tech sports kit.
Advertised at £6,495.

From the pic it looks stunning, so just wondering if anyone has one already?

Also what are the important things to check up on when going to visit? Parkers have the guide price set at £9255 but thats for ones with only 50k on the clock.

Cheers,

doesn't say its a coupe, looks like a 4door to me from the pic.

Its the colour that makes it stand out to me, as well as the 18" MV3 alloys and M-tech kit :)

yeah, Parkers did have it nearer 8.5->9k i believe. Its a trade advert and not private as well.

What are the important things to check for then?

Managed to find a small pic of it online..

Horrid wheels, but stick 'em on ebay and get a few hundred for them in return. Put the standard MV1's back on - the car will look a lot cleaner.

Imola red pre-facelift Sport - don't see many of those around! I like the Imola Saloons though - it will be a great looking car.

Edit: With a car of this age and mileage - be very wary of clocking. Check the SH very carefully.

Ahh now I get it, it does look nicer than an SE but not quite as nice as a facelift Sport.

Yup they're very different looking the facelift Sport, but still look great - front looks a bit like a facelift SE with a splitter. They're quite rare but look great - especially if it's got the standard spoiler fitted ;)

some quick insurance quotes put it at only a £100 or so a year more than what i'm currently paying.

Shall need to ring the place tomorrow, see if its still there

Cheers

Hmmm, very well priced - if its a nice, well looked after car it'll make a good buy, but do your homework first - they are not cheap to run and will cost a bit if stuff goes wrong.

325i is decent - the 2.5 is well suited to the 3 Series despite its comparative lack of torque. 0-60 is in the mid 7's.

I suspect the price is largely down to the colour, Imola Red is a non metallic red which you either love or hate. It also probably doesnt have leather, it'll have half cloth/half alcantara which doesn't wear very well on the side bolsters.

Check it out, good upgrade from a Mondy :)

says its got grey sports suede seats so no leather. Shall be interesting to see anyways. Doesn't say if its manual or auto either.

Cousins got a 323i with the trip-tronic box and that looks quite good - not had chance to drive one though.

Hi there

325i/525i's are great cars. :)

I've got a 10yr old one with 205,000 on the clock. 192BHP, not sure how many of those horses are left on mine but it pulls strong in all gears with no flat spots. Good engine and reliable if maintained. :)

£140 for Oil Service, then 15k, then £249 for Inspection 1, then 15k, then £140 for Oil Service, then 15k, then £350 for Inspection II, then 15k, then £140 for Oil service, then buy M5 :p

Thats main dealer prices. Indy knock 25% off that.

Tyres are £500 a set.
