Well upon turning 17 i started looking at insurance quotes etc. and realised i had enough for one of these beauties (for a new 17 year old school go'er at least ;)):

what do you think / recoginse it from anywhere?

ohh. ps before any kind comments, i own it fully, i will be fully insured in my name with all mods declared and all rules of the roads will be adheaerd to

doh, fixing to thumbnails now

Nice first car, just take it easy! They're sufficently quick enough to get you into sticky situation quite easily.

Make sure you enjoy it :)

Don't **** up the handling by slamming it in the weeds. It handles perfectly as it is. The back just looks a bit high there because its on a slope, its already got bilstein sport uprated dampers on the front so if you must get some eibach or H+R -30mm springs on the front and it should sit at a nice height with the rear slightly higher which is what you want.

Look after it and it and you will have a lot of happy motoring, as I said a lot of work has been done to it by me so shouldn't need much doing apart from front tyres :p

saitrix - insurance is around £1800 in my name, less if i do pass plus, its a cost i am willing to pay for the quality of car and not being stuck with a slower car that would get on my nerves,

spaz - looks like it could do with lowering due to the severity of the slope my drive is on, however may drop it about 30mm on front as it already has stiffened dampers so should imporve the looks no end,

and yes, GT3 kindly provided me with the car for a great price :D

Don't lower it as much as mine, nice in the dry but in the wet you cant keep it in a straight line, slides everywhere, fun though as its easily controllable :D

If it slides everywhere in the wet I'd say that was uncontrollable, maybe predictable ;) It will slide controllably as standard, lift off = :D

It is predictable to an extent, it took me by suprise the other night on a downward left hand bed, but it was easy to pull back in line, would have looked awesome but i was held on to the gearstick and yanked it out of 2nd as i pulled it back, then without realising it was bouncing off the limiter, i thought i popped a driveshaft  :D

Whats the statistic as the most popular type of car as a first car? Im struggling to think of many first cars that werent of French origin.

Everyone did tell you not to lower it that much ;)

Ford Fiesta, Vauxhall Corsa, Fiat Punto, Rover Metro, Vauxhall Nova etc etc :D

vtr at 17 with mods declared. Bet your paying more per year than the car is worth twice over lol. Not bad though, could do with some VTS wheels on it i think, maybe in white :)

I paid £3k for the car and £2100 for insurance when I had it at 17 :p

And Speedline Turinis > VTS wheels ;)
