After a short thread on my need for a new car... i ended up buying this today:

Apologies for the phone photo...

Its a 2003 A4 3.0 Quattro sport avant..

I was after something cheap (just over 5k) to do me 6 months in a new job.. tested quite a few cars and this felt the best value.

It has just under 90k on the clock and has a full service history. Seems to have a few options.. xenons and parking sensors. Might be standard, not sure. Has black heated leather and its a 6 speed manual.

I'll pick it up midweek. I agreed on leaving a deposit that the car is given the thumbs up by my mechanic mate.

So... decent buy, or cancel now? :)

Nice car - I'm sure people will be along soon to tell you it doesnt handle and the ride is rubbish, but I like it :)

a few of the lighter plastic parts might be replaced when I pick it up... they appear to have been used with someone who sweats acid.. :)

Id also like a mp3 player but not sure how it could work with the bose changer in it at the moment

5k! Nice. Didn't know you could pick up an 03 3.0 Quattro for that little

What are running costs like compared to something like an E46/E39?

Yup.. I was a little concerned when they took my first offer

Dammit! :)

Edit: My mate that runs an indy audi garage knows them... so maybe that helped? Not sure if it did, but they were very down to earth and we all knew the same people.

Cooling issues... possible signs of hgf..

Not confirmed, but without work and money on investigating i thought it best just to ask for the deposit back boo000

:(

Guess it might have been too good to be true. Although at least now you know you like them so you can keep an eye out for another
