Hey guys,
im looking for a new gfx card but i havnt got a lot of money to sepend

P4 3.0
1GB ram
6600GT
coolers for everything
600watt cheepo psu
19inch widescreen monitor (1440x900)

so i saw this card (the one at the bottem ) http://www.overclockers.co.uk/acatalog/Online_Catalogue_Graphics_Cards_637.html

it was cheep and the spec looks ok - a few things to ask -

how well would it react to being OC'd
and is it any good for the money ?

thanx for any help u can give me

The 6800GT/ultra didnt overclock very well at all. It will be an improvement on what you have now though :p The price is ok and about right for what they can be found for

WTF?
Obviously you never owned one or dont know how to overclock.
The both overclocked very well, the 6800 GT can easily get 425/1150

Its a good card & we worth that kind of money.

Yeah 6800 GT's were well known for getting to Ultra speeds easily, and even surpassing them, everyone was buying them instead of Ultras as they were cheaper, and just clocking em to Ultra speeds or beyond. :)

put it this way, the only other thing that is priced the same as that 6800gt is a 7600GS and thats slower than the 6800gt when gaming at 1280x1024. but take into account that the card they are selling is B grade and i have had faulty goods shipped to me before which were from the B grade. never again will i buy b-grade items.

Ive owned both actually and i do know how to overclock. Mine struggled to get to 390 on the core and so did my friends. Its my own experience not everyones so dont tell me that i cannot overclock.

6800 GT for £82 is hard to beat if you need an AGP card. Stick an Arctic Cooling NV5 rev3 VGA Silencer on there and it should be silent and offer excellent overclocking, plus it'll exhaust the heat straight out of the case.

If you want to spend a bit more go for the 7600 GT AGP.

look for as cheap a 7600GT as you can find, that'll be better than the 6800GT, better overclocking, cooler running and superior performance

Hes on AGP though well looking at the 6800GT hes seen. The one on overclockers is £135 which is probably a bit too high for his liking...

Yeh, he 6800 gt clearance looks cool, but does look like a strapped asus model to me.....(if pic correct) ah well, still good value

value for money wise the 6800gt is the best offer for agp at the moment for £82..... if the card works seeing as how its b-grade.

order placed. should be here on next day citylink delivery so not sure how the order times work but iv placed the order at 10:05am uk time. so does that mean it will be with me tomorrow (thursday) or on friday?

either way a 6800gt for £78 is not bad at all, placed the order through my work company so all i have to do is hand them the excluding vat cash :D

first time they have sent me this mail. looks like i won;t be getting my gfx card by friday in which case i can;t be bothered to send all that stuff in to them. is this a legit mail or is someone trying to scam my details? the address details in the mail are:

is this for real? this is the first time ever of doing online shopping that anyone has asked for this stuff. i smell something fishy.

i just checked the clearance section again and the 6800gt has now gone up in price to £135 inc vat. i can see now why im being messed around, they obviously don't want me the take the card at £93 inc vat and delivery

The 6800GTs overclocked VERY well , obviously not all did but the vast majorty hit ultra speeds without breaking a sweat
