I'm looking for centre speaker upgrade suggestions for my current KEF 5.1 HTC3001se system.

It can't be bigger than the receiver for it to fit in the gap: 434mm x 339mm x 167mm

My budget is fairly open but I would only replace what I've got for something that's definitely an upgrade. Thank you :)

I'd stick to something KEF as it will almost certainly blend better with your front channels, your space is slightly awkward as most high end centres are too wide for the hole!

You really don't need a center with your front two that close together. If you feel the need to have one though, then you have to buy KEF. Your LCR should always be the same brand and ideally from the same series of speaker.

If it were me, I'd replace the lot. A pair of bookshelves on stands would out perform those 'lifestyle' speakers. You'd even gain some bass, as I doubt those small speakers pump out any low end.

You clearly don't suffer women in the house syndrome, stand mount speakers tend to irritate this condition to the point of melt down!!

I have the Kef 2005.3 5.1 system,
I bought a 3005Se centre which made a considerable difference to my setup, but not sure if it would be that much of an upgrade as you already have the 3001

im now looking at getting the KEF Q500 L R and a Q200C centre, just goto robbed about a grand! lol

Just get them regardless, and when they arrive claim that they're bigger than first expected, but look/sound good so they're staying!

Seems strange to only upgrade the centre, what's wrong with it?

There's nothing wrong with it, I just thought that with all that space available I could get something better.

Will have to look and see what KEF centre speakers are around that will fit.

if its not broke dont fix it :P if it works ok stick with what you have, other wise with a set up like yours i would have just got a soundbar
