My best guess would be a driver issue. Are you sure all drivers are installed? Motherboard chipset/graphics/sound card/directx/etc?

Also ensure in your graphics control panel everything is set to performance, especially the anti-aliasing and anisotropic filtering, which should be set to application preference (or equivalent).

Just a guess but try upping the 2D Clocks on your graphics card to the same as your 3D clocks are set to.

Just a guess because 3DMARK05 on my PC uses the 2D Clocks instead of 3D, same with 06, I can't bench properly because 2D Clocks don't work for 800 Memory sadly, well annoying!!

Anyway yeah try upping the 2D Clocks then try it, worked for me, was getting like 7000 points on my rig, when I upped the 2D Clocks went to 11.5k :D

hmmm.....

first ..it's not the PSU ...it's a very good PSU ! ...(fsp 350) not generic
second i did install all newest drivers .... and direct X
in the driver i checked first....."set to performance".....did it too
AA and AF - off

Jihad ?
about that 2Dclock \ 3Dclock ....it's only for 3dMARK 05 program scores ?
or that "2Dclock \ 3Dclock " connected to the whole PERFORMANCE of the computer ?
and last and inportant question .....(some 1 told me that maby its' this that holding back the whole system)
can it be that all that performance issues comes from the MOTHER BOARD ? (asus astrok asustek P5GZ-mx) (it's that cheap 1 that fits the conro 6300)

plus conroe is low power consuming, so is the 7600GT, should be totally fine with good, branded 350W PSU :) however i got 7100 on my OC-ed 7600GT and athlon 64 (single core then)

PSU would be the only weak link i could find, other than the ASrock board, not sure how ASrock are these days, but they used to be damned right attrocious :p

Im sure its a graphics driver. If you look around these forums a lot of the problems going to nvidia from ati is ATi drivers never fully remove. Reformat and it should be fine i bet :p

I don't benchmark, so I may not be right here, but I'd imagine that this is the problem that the OP (ASD1301) is also having.

ASD1301 - I may be wrong here, but try running a 3d game in the background, then re-run 3dmark05. That *might* force your graphics card to use the 3d clocks.

yes but tis' a new computer ! (5 days old) !
no 1 "moved from aTI to NVIDIA ...."
Would be nice if you could use at least a little bit of grammer and proper spelling.

If it is a store bought rig then I would take it back to them and get them to sort it. It probably has aload of rubbish hogging the memory (Norton AV anyone? ) or a driver conflict.

its grammAr. at least least get that right if you're trying to correct somebody. :o

to the OP - make sure you have all the motherboard drivers installed. that's a common mistake :)

yes

yes norton AV is on that system but i do "disable" before i run 3DMARK 05 ....

and by the way
"Would be nice if you could use at least a little bit of grammer and proper spelling"
