Wondering if anyone has any info if this is legal to do, or if I sign my new contract I'd lose the right to challenge it if my data was ever compromised.

New contract states:

You consent to the transfer of personal data to the business contacts of the Company outside of the European Economic Area in order to further its business interests even where the country or territory in question does not maintain adequate data protection standard.

Looking online it states personal data shall not be transferred to a country or territory outside the EEA unless that country or territory ensures an adequate level of protection for the rights and freedoms of data subjects in relation to the processing of personal data.

Country in question will be South Africa I expect.

What happens if I sign the contract?

Little bit more, I took it up with my MD and after she spoke to their MD and the owners it was decided it was not legal to add the clause so it's taken out of my contract and everyone else is getting written amendments to their contracts taking it out.
