From Neoseeker.com
An overclocker from Europe has pushed the Core i5-670 past the fantastic clock of speed of 7 GHz. Of course to reach this speed he needed some extreme cooling, and only liquid nitrogen would do.
The Core i5-670 is one of the latest Clarkdale 32nm parts released just last weekend by Intel. By default, the dual-core, four-thread Core i5-670 is clocked at the already very fast speed of 3.46 GHz.
To probably no one's surprise, these new 'Westmere' Clarkdale chips are impressive overclockers. Neoseeker's own Pier-Luc Gendreau took some time yesterday to see what kind of clocks he could wrought with a Core i5-661. In his over-clocking adventures using air-cooling, he was able to wrangle a solid and stable 4.42 GHz. If you like, you can read all about it right over here.
This 7 GHz mark being broken by the new 32nm Core i5 isn't actually the first time an Intel chip has broke 7 GHz, surprisingly -- but the last chips that were able to break that barrier were pre-Netburst Pentium 4's, which came out about a decade ago.

I think that is pretty mad to be honest
