New Dell XPS 17 3D - release date?

Folks, I'm looking to buy a Dell XPS 17 but have been reading that there's a new model coming out with Sandybridge chips, a full HD 120Hz screen and Nvidia GT555.

They are quoted as being released in February 2011 but wondered if anyone knew exactly when they were due to be launched in the UK? Are the Sandybridge chipset issues likely to cause some delay on these or is it a desktop issue only?

Any info appreciated as I need to try and buy soon.

I would be surprised if you see them in Feb.
The SB chipset issue will cause delays and Dell have already pulled the new m17x SB laptop due to this issue.

Looks like April for sandy bridge now according to gigabyte any way. Not sure when amds new one will be out but I might wait for that now

Just by way of an update, these are available now it seems.

Anyone got any opinions on the Nividia 555M GPU in these machines? Seems roughly comparable to the old GTX445M so OK for light gaming?

There isn't much info on it, but it is a marked improvement over previous generations of the XPS (GT425M iirc).

It will do well for light gaming, although I think it will still struggle a bit at higher resolutions. In any case, looks like a rebadged GT 445M. Typical NVIDIA
