I’ve got myself a little confused at the moment regarding PC audio so was hoping I could get some advice please.
Basically I have some AKG K702’s for gaming and was about to pull the trigger on a Schiit stack, Magni/Modi 3 to give them more power over the onboard Realtek chip but then thought it would be nice to have some small active speakers as well. Something the size of the Ruark MR1 would be perfect.
Now the above setup sounds good to me but I would love to be able to keep the headphones permanently plugged in with just a switch to swap between them and the speakers but the Magni 3 can’t do that. (Like most amps it mutes the preouts when the headphone jack is used)
Any thoughts on improving this setup or indeed the headphone switch?
Please also do not mention a Creative sound card solution (I have my reasons) and I do also realise I’ll miss out on virtual surround sound.
