My trusty £100 hotpoint dishwasher packed up on Friday morning after 7 years of great service so it looks like time for a replacement I've done a bit of googling and review reading and I'm leaning towards the Beko DW686 it seems to have a great capacity and energy efficiency rating combined with some solid reviews and a good price?

Anyone got any experience with this model or recomend something similar in the price range (approx £300) yes I know it's a beko so no need for burning the house down comments, please don't just say meile becuase we are on ocuk and everyone should have meile.

Thanks all some interesting point allthough it's looking like I may have fixed the old one!

I noticed it still powered on with the door open and only turned off when the door was about a quater of the way up so I guessed that it was the wires round the hings that were being pinched and had worn through. Quick bit of dismantling later and low and behold bare wires where the insulation had been worn off and the live cable worn through and only touching at certain angles. I've cut out and replaced the worn bits and currently have a test cycle running, fingers crossed!

Failing that I'm leaning more and more towards the beko it has the best energy rating of anything I've seen sub 400 quid and the internal flexibility looks good. I've no idea what the problem with the hedgehog of doom is life is full of things that are much more likely to kill your kids like crossing the road or driving to the grand parents!
