** NEW DUCKY - BOARDS AND KEYCAPS**

Hi guys, Is the white key cap compatible with Ducky DK9087 Shine 3? Thanks

been answered already if you read the thread.
the product description says the following: Replacement keycap set for Cherry MX Switch keyboards. your shine 3 is a cherry mx switch keyboard. so it will fit.

Any keyboard

With UK ISO standard layout

And cherry MX stem switches

The keycaps will fit

Hey guys, are the Mini boards using the UK ISO layout? The picture is clearly not using a UK layout, and as much as I really, really want a Ducky Mini, if it doesn't have a UK layout there's no way I can get used to it.

Product images are for illustrative purposes only.

Rich,

Any Ducky PBT sets coming in again soon? And/or any of those funky PBT Ducky keyboards with blue/grey keys like you had before?

Ducky are best to answer that. I would imagine that some more PBT sets will be coming this year.

If anyone is baulking at the cost, the Ducky Shine 3 I bought from OCUK last year is awesome.

Here's hoping the Ducky Shine 5 will be wireless (with USB charging). :)

Very tempted by the Fire 69... Any info (I'm being lazy) about which MX switches are where? Is the main QWERTY typing area using MX-Reds?

I love my '78 but the US layout has always bugged me and still catches me out...

Nope, it looks like it's green!

Also is there an update to the ETA on those keycaps? Just ordered 2 sets (white and grey, couldn't decide!) and reeeeeeallllly want to put them on both my shine 2 and 3 :D :D

It can also be viewed as a really expensive switch tester.

But the layout that they have gone for on that actually makes a fair amount of sense and would be enjoyable to use. It truly is a special edition!

This was my view as well. I can understand having a couple of different types but the amount of different types on this board seems a little excessive. I think I would also be more tempted by it if it had mainly red switches rather than greens.

Greens make just as much noise as Blue's which are too noisy for me... I actually went from Browns (Zero) to Reds (78) and not sure now I'd go back to Browns lol

Is there a point to having all of these different switch types, or just because they can? I suppose I get having one switch for the main keys and a different type for modifiers, numpad etc, but 9? And that one lonely brown on esc!

I guess it is just a special edition.

You answered your own question! AFAIK all the royalties that goto Cherry for most MX switches are the same regardless of which is used (except the newer ones/clears?) so there is little/no cost difference to manufacturers to change them or mix them up! :)

They look awesome too with the different backlighting (my 78 is in the middle) ;)

The layout is similar to my 78 (typing area are Reds, keypad are Blues, Arrows are Browns, Enter etc are Blacks with a mixture for the F keys!):D

How do you get on without the cursor keys? I'm very tempted by this as I need a kb to use on my lap for a laptop (on a table next to me) so the mini size does appeal, but not sure if this or a TKL?

I rarely use them but once you have learned the 2nd fn's on the board then its fairly easy to remember.

I get most stuck forgetting \'# and / over the 2nd fn's. I would advise if moving over to no legend caps, especially one on a keyboard like this with loads of modifier keys that you should just use the standard keycaps for about a month and get used to the layout. Then switch to no legend.

the mouse function on this is decent, but I rarely use it in honesty.

It's quite common to have a mix
lets you know you're pressing the right button, and stops frivolous presses of certain keys

yes indeed. a lot of people I know run mixed switches. There is a chap i speak to at Insomnia who has a rather nice keyboard collection with switch mixes that got me looking at it.
I would personally like a MXblue typing area with MXwhite modifiers and an MXgreen space. maybe one day I will buy the switches and pull my mini apart to do it.
