For all of those with Vista and a G80 there are some new Dx10 demos out.

Also needed are these :- DirectX SDK 10 redistributable, OpenGL SDK 10 Installer, and Direct3D SDK 10 Installer.

DirectX SDK Redistributable

Direct3D SDK/OpenGL SDK 10 Installers

You can grab the demos D3D here, and OpenGL here

Not running Vista here, but thought id just give ppl that are on here, and have a G80 a heads up if anyones interested.. :)

Yeah im waiting a while here to before i try Vista, better driver support, and a SP or two, mind you i can see myself just slapping Vista on an old drive when Crysis gets here just so i can play it in Dx10. :D

If someone can tell me how to dual boot i would buy Vista TODAY! i just fed up of listening to driver problems, so havnt tried it...

If I could still run Xp, it would be nice! :p

dual boot is easy, just use a program like partition magic n split ** hd, then just install windows on the new partition, and WA LA, bish bash bosh, stick a fork in me, im done.

heres me getting mildly excited thinking i could run this with a 7series and dx10 on vista....... err no.
anyone with an 8800, go for it, anyone else just watch the videos, they are pretty impressive though!

I refuse to buy Vista until SP1
I think buying an OS when it is totally new is a foolish idea.
Best to wait util bugs and security flaws have been fixed up a bit.....

I can wait for DX 10, I have not even got a DX10 card yet.
I was gonna get the 8600 GTS, but now that they might bring out the G90 and G100 within the year I might wait and get a mid range version of one of them - they will be better optimised for DX10 anyway.....

totally agree, vista looks nice and that but just has not got the support needed. and yeah, why rush out and buy 8800's when they will drop big time in a couple of months. the one game i am after is crysis and the only reason i have kept vista installed on my other drive is so that i can compare it to an xp install. and that wont be out untill 2010 or something like that!

I had Vista Ultimate 64bit on a dual boot with my WIn XP MCE, and I've thrashed this system on Vista with all my software (games, apps etc) and I must've been very lucky as I had no issues at all....even with the 64bit version I was using. I dumped the dual boot and now just use Vista Ultimate.

My system specs are: Conroe 6600
ASUS P5N32SLI-SE-Deluxe mobo
2GB DDR2 4200 RAM (533mHz)
XFX 8800GTS XXX (pre overclocked) GPU 320meg
Creative X-Fi Fatal1ty Gamer Pro sound card
500GB Seagate Barracuda HDD 16meg cache
320GB Seagate Barracuda HDD 16meg cache

I'm using all official current Vista 64bit drivers where applicable.

Thanks for the links....I'm going to download and have a look at these!!
:D

em I have XPMCE on an 80gb hard drive and Vista on my 250GB hard drive, as simple as going into my bios and changing the boot device ;P

Vista for browsing the net and using office etc

XPMCE for Gaming, as simple as that! :D

You can watch the videos and decide before you d/l the demo.
However I was very impressed with Skinned instancing. Going from 47 men to over 10000 with a only 7fps drop!
