'New' EK block very scratched

I have accepted a replacement with ek supreme ltx + ek universal backplate + 1 litre of coolant.

I know that block isn't as good as the hf but I just want my pc up and running asap :)

i have just got my hf ek block today and it dosent look like yours it is all shiney so i think you have got a duff one.

my ek hf block from ocuk had a mirror shine. even my old block for 775 which didnt advertise a mirror shine came with a mirror finish.

The "scratches" look to me to be very similar to the milling process ek uses on other products which dont have a mirror finish. I guess this one just made it through the lines somehow without having the final shinyness done on it. Meaning its not the shops fault, and as such they dont care because it was new and sealed from EK.

EK were nice enough to give you a discount code though :)
DSR should work as its not as advertised since it is meant to have a mirror finish. too late now though, hope the new block is ok :D

Lesson learned, buy from ocuk for peace of mind incase something goes wrong. They have their mission to have the best cs in all of the land ya'know.

I've seen a similar post on another forum where an item was sent to the wrong address by that company and they also refused to offer reimbursement in full stating it would cost them too much!

I've also had trouble myself an order took 2 weeks to arrive and despite receiving a "dispatched" email the next working day after ordering the Royal Mail stamp (postage label?) was dated a week later!

Now either the RM's franking machine is set a week into the future or someone is telling porkies. The address itself was completely cocked up too.

I paid with bank transfer. I am in Ireland though so not sure what rights I have.

I always make sure I pay with credit card or PayPal in these circumstances, it might cost a bit more but you have comeback against these companies with Bank Transfer you might as well stuff cash into an envelope and post it.

hhmn if not exactly as described i would have thought you had everyright to demand a replacement in the condition you had expected.

it should NOT have the slightest mark on it if advertised as mirror finish.

and if i read it right how the hell r you expected to inspect it without opening it ..

even tho it may take time in returns i wouldnt accept things if opened i would refuse the delivery if poss.
i know thats not always practicle and can be a PITA but the company are a respectable outfit and i would have thought they would have been more helpfull than they were tbh
