£700 for a 1080 at this stage in it's product life cycle?

Utterly absurd. They'll be staying on the shelves at that price.

We are still selling £800 1080's just fine, volumes are less since launch but product still sells, if EVGA thought it would not, they would not have launched them. :)

It's still the best card on the market from AIB partners.

From experience I would happily pay more for a decent cooler than a crappy one. Indeed as far as I'm concerned the Titan doesn't exist as I couldn't be doing with a blower style, one tiny fan on such a hot chip.

Stop looking at the price only. They had time to refine the cards so these might be some of the best 1080's in which case they will sell. Price is only part of equation as it has been proven time and time again.

They were vastly overpriced at launch, doubly so late in their life cycle.

as the man said, if EVGA thought they wouldn't sell they wouldn't have bothered. What you or I or anyone else think is irrelevant. The actual result matters.

Oh, and the launch / pre-order prices were the lowest ... and then 24-th happened ... My Zotac has never been that cheap again, even after 8 months from release ...

Or they're just relying on peoples ignorance, paying £700 for a 1080 now is like walking into a car showroom and paying full price for a car that's getting a refresh/price reduction in 3mths time...stupid.

you make a personal judgement and applying it to other people. Don't expect others to think like you, everyone has their reasons for buying stuff and price is not always the deciding factor ... this applies to everything else as well, GPUs are no different. People buy when there's a perceived value. How do you know what reasons someone has to buy such a card? It boggles my mind that anyone dares to call others names based on what they buy ... it's so incredibly short sighted and speaks more about you than them.

ACX FTW has a design flaw when used with the 10 series cards.

No they don't. The 1080 ACX FTW is just fine. They only brought this card to market because a few FTW cards had issues and were afraid nobody would buy the FTW because of a small issue only a few people had. 99.9 of them were fine after a bios update. The thermal pads weren't even needed. As expected everyone freak out anyways. Was blown way out of proportion as usual by the PC community
