I'm buying a new front door due to the bottom splitting as it turns out it was low threshold and I blew the bottom up with a floor mat

I've been quoted roughly £1,970 for a composite door + side windows with a standard half moon + 2 rectangle down windows. Looking around price wise that seems reasonably standard.

More curious if I'm being a little nuts looking at getting a black door considering the amount of white I have on the front of the house. Part of me says buy white again however with the windows being reasonably old I'm not convinced they'd be the same shade so it may look a bit off? A bit of accent never did anyone wrong either right?

At £2000 even with the glass I would have thought you could get a rockdoor/solidoor which are meant to be the top end products. I imagine B&Q is pretty naff.

I think mine are a "truedoor" both not fitted that well to be fair but for 2 X doors it was about 1900all in (no glass). I had quotes for a single rockdoor for about £1300

I can confirm I'm not getting it from B&Q but a local trader whose installed quite a few for family so comes with a solid guarantee. Was more using the example for a potential design / style.

PVC was £1,500 to jump to Composite was £1,970. I'm a little dubious if the Rockdoor / Solidoor would actually be worth adding further costs as I may move from here in 3-5years.

These might be worth a look, company I work for supplies their parent companies products to house builders and they soon drop products that have persistent issues, price wise just send emails to a load of different distributers you may find supply only and paying someone to fit it separately is considerably cheaper

Literally just (yesterday) had a Rockdoor installed by a company called Right Door in Essex.

Went for their top end door in Jacobean style with an AV2-E electronic door lock but don’t have any side windows etc. Was £2k fitted but the lock was the best part of £500. Have a look around and find out what make of they are installing for that price.
