Hey 'yall I'm looking to get a graphics card for around £70,
higher or lower by a bit is cool but essentially I'm looking for best bang for my buck.
An Nvidia, and an ATI option would be swell thanks :D

cheers Kenai, yeah that was my guess too, are ATI the best bet at this sort of price range though??
i.e does Nvidia have a mid-range competitor?

If you can extend to £80, then many ATI 4850s or 4770s can be had for about that - I know the 4850 is a good performer, IIRC the 4770 isn't that far behind it.

As for Nvidia cards, well, you're stuck with the GTS250 - which I don't think is actually as quick as the 4850, although I'm happy to be corrected on that.

I have got a 4770, brilliant little card for the money, really quick at everything i throw at it, just bought a second one actually :)

The GTS250 seems to sit around the same area, but stumbles in some stuff and excels in others.

I thought the 250 was a rebranded 9800GTX+ so is slightly faster honestly nvidia lost the plot with the rebrands so can't remember.
