If you can get hold of one and can afford it, a GTX480.

Otherwise a 5870 or a 5850 and just overclock it.

Probably a 5850. I have a GTX 260 and I've been trying to hold out for a better option or price drops but nothing seems to be happening. I may end up just going for a 5850 at some point. My main worry is that, I've left it so long now that as soon as I buy one, they will drop to £180. There is a huge gap in graphics cards from £120 - £230 (ignoring the 5830) which, unfortunately, is the bracket I always buy my graphics cards from. So I would say either a 5850 now or wait for a price drop or a refresh. It depends how desperate you are to upgrade.

Your going to need to up the clock speed of that CPU to see the full benefit of your upgrade.

Sell the 260. then you could probably probably afford a 5870. Then overlcock your cpu and the card as much as you can :)

I'm in the same boat but my GTX260 performs well in most games anyway that I can't justify upgrading. However if there was a 5850 for a decent price, I might just go for it.

have you tried overclocking your 260 & cpu. might buy you some time/improve current performance by maybe 20% until a price drop who knows when.
