Hello,

I'm looking for a decent electric guitar. But it's been a while since I last purchased anything other than strings for my acoustic so I was hoping for some pointers and ideas of prices.

I was looking for a Les Paul by Epiphone in the vintage sunburst. What kind of price should I be looking a paying for a decent one 2nd hand? Some of the prices on the "the bay" looked a bit low.

Thanks

Look no further than the Yamaha Pacifica 112. There is a reason why so many people constantly harp on about them - they are (probably) the best value for money guitar you can buy in the sub-£500 range and they hold their own well even against +£1000 ones.

Simply awesome guitars.

Some of the best advice to take really, some more worthy mentions are the following:

-Squier Classic Vibe/Deluxe series Stratocasters and Telecasters.
-Vintage V100 and VRS100 (I own the latter and find it more playable than guitars which cost twice the money.)

I will second the quality of Vintage guitars. I went to a guitar show recently to try a bunch of +£1000 guitars. The one which actually impressed me the most was a Vintage Les Paul copy. I was absolutely stunned by how playable it was, to the point where I almost bought it on the spot - it was that good.
