I'm looking to buy a new headset as my current one is failing after a good 3 years of abuse. I'm surprised I got that out of it tbh.(Very cheap mikomi usb thing)

Since its for gaming primarily, I'd like it to be comfortable.

I was looking at these two:

They seem to be quite popular. Though would they require me to buy an additional sound card and if so which one?

Also, I like the look of these:

Can anyone advise me?

Many thanks

Mike

Hi Mike,

Looking at your post you have looked at some great headsets which will improve your gaming experience for sure. The HS-800 are a great pair, comfortable also 3.5mm so you can take use of a soundcard if you were to get a dedicated sound card. I currently use the XFI Titanium accompanied by the Roccat Kave 5.1 headsets. Its great for FPS as for pin point accuracy its really perfect, along with deep bass. The Plantronics GameCom 377 are also a fantastic headset with nothing but positive reviews. I have not tried a pair of these so I could not compare with these but from reading the reviews they seem good value for money. Take a look at the Siberia V2 series from Steelseries. These are very popular in the gaming world http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=SP-021-ST

Thanks for the replies.

As for the budget, would look to be paying 50-60 quid say, though I'm flexible.

Though if the plantronic ones will do for the money i.e they're comfortable, decent sound quality and will last me then I'll get them and a dedi sound card.

Though admittedly the siberia v2s do look very nice. A bit torn with what to do.
