We can only hope they have .. but I am sure it would be in the details if they had improved it chance to not be ?.

If they do have coil whine what is the deal with them .. Can you return ? I need a new card for a new build .. I have the Superflower platinum 1000W psu so have a good start / recommended PSU . but if I get one and it's got coil whine?

They have inserted a metal plate which covers all the inductors, memory chips etc and in theory this will help dampen any vibrations the inductors might give but the plate is not designed as such to reduce whine but it could have that kind of positive side effect.

In our factory the lab found the best effect was changing the containers to a higher spec and then using glue on them, and they did spend a couple of weeks trying different techniques to finally come to this and the design changes found most effective were implemented into our KGA2 Infinity Black Edition.

Its more luck, some cards don't do it at all but at the same time you can have a completely silent card in one PC and then put it in another PC and it will scream.

All manufacturers can do is try to find ways to reduce is because by employing such methods then the outcome will be your luck improves.

Surprised no one has commented on the forums to be honest, GTX 980's got as cheap as £360 before XMAS and 970's for £240, now your lucking at a massive chunk more on those alone and remember the dollar pretty much effects every product in the IT industry........

Nope.

Coilwhine reduction can only be done at the factory, we do not fancy trying to solder cards or glue down inductors by hand, would cause massive issues.

So a Techlab card is literally just the waterblock, but of course some of the Techlab cards are based on the Infinity card which have the reduction technology.
