OK, guys, forget the expensive SLRs here, I want advice on a cheap and small camera. I have a Kodak camera which is a few years old and takes ages from pressing the shutter to taking the photo. Could anyone suggest something that is reasonably good and inexpensive? I am not after great numbers of pixels as mostly the picture wil be viewed on the screen.

OK, thanks for the advice in advance by the way.

the cheapest camera in my opinion worth buying new is the Pentax Optio 50L. At work we're sellin it at £99 quid so can probably be bought elsewhere cheaper, and it has a really nice 2.5" screen, quite responsive, 3x optical zoom and 5mp...I personally have sold about 25 of them in the last week, and every single person has been happy with them :) it stands up well against £150 cameras

Tom.

A well known supermarket has all it's digital cameras reduced.

konica Minolta Dimage X1 cameras reduced to £70.

Kodak C330 4mp With Dock £129.99 down to £87.99

Fuji A400 With Printer Dock £149.99 down to £105.99

Sony DSC-P200 from £239.99 down to £150

Pentax Optio £95

Not a camera person myself but seen these offers posted on a different forum and thought it might be useful for someone here.
