I may do the Hondata airbox mod to mine but I don't fancy a big cone filter considering where it sits in the bay on a Civic and I'm too tight for a gruppe m, alas the S2000 sounds gooood!

I've been like this since I got the Teg.
I know a Mugen rep will will be better than the open Injen CAI, but once opened up THAT sound gives +50bp to my mind and ears, increasing enjoyment 10 fold.
Now what's more important, a bit more power through the range or the spine tingling felt as above?

VTEC noise is sublime, I can't get enough of it.Have to be careful though as you'll be doing license loosing speeds in a flash

You get the same noise with the lid off. Infact most cars sound like that with no airbox to silence the air.
Manufacturers spend most the money and time making the induction system quiet, rather than focusing on power.
I run the standard filter with lid on on mine, anything else is too addictive.
I disagree. I was running lid off for a while before I fitted the FIPK and there is no comparison.
My point was you get noise even on the Honda OEM system.
Lid off is a bit agricultural compared to a longer pipe tuned for noise
How do you find the typhoon? Is the heatsoak issue as bad as everyone says?

At least my air filter isn't some massive box that the intake pipe loops through twice

Am I the only one who attributes the Toyota folk callling the variable valve timing changes 'lift' to fingers down a chalkboard?

Maybe, I've owned both types and they're as good as each other, also its not just Honda and Toyota that have these technologies there are others

It's not VVT I have a problem with, it's the use of the term "lift". It just sounds silly IMHO.

It does sound a bit naff but it separates VVTI and VVTL-I in the same way VTEC and VTEC DOHC are seperate

They should just use the 'slow' one and the 'fast' one as differing terms.
