In recent events - OcUK was down for over 24 hours in total over the last few days - nobody could chat about stuff. Both servers below are hosted external to OcUK and not affiliated with OcUK at all. Come chat about anything and everything.

Cross compatible for all devices, works on mobile, tablets, desktops and all operating systems with a standard browser. The below web app is hosted on two completely different servers so one will always be working! Unless I need to do updates or config changes of course!

There are two brand new themes customised by me for both public and private mode to match OcUK the styles - yep you guessed it! OcUK-Blue-Theme and OcUK-Dark-Theme! Go to your settings to enable them.

Public Mode(This has now ended)
This connects in public mode, all chats are logged and once you disconnect you will have to re-connect again. This is monitored to decrease spam and you have the potential to be kicked and perma banned. Just stick your forum nick in the "Nick" box as per screenshot below then click connect.

...Or if you prefer use your own IRC Client as pointed out by Steeps post 2, you can connect with the following details;
Server: irc.freenode.net (Closed)
Channel: #overclockers-uk (Closed)

Private Mode (This has now ended)
The private server has been removed, you must connect to it either via your own client or by the public client.

Toms Discord Server
If you want to join Toms Discord server instead of the old IRC style room then come on in.

Just visit one of the links above weather depends on which server you want to connect too. Any questions just ask!

I had an almost permanent presence on IRC from 1996 until the log closed "15 ‎May ‎2009, ‏‎23:06:19" thanks to a BNC. Only used it sporadically since.

IRC has still been going but due to places like discord and Facebook chat it slowed down but I think more people is starting to use the older IRC with a better client now more than ever before.

I'd need a specialised ui for autistic aid to make much sense / use of it. No offense intended

No problem, I'm not the designed of the app so until they implement that I can't do much about it as I don't know advanced programming, sorry. :)

Whoever this was - no I don't leave my computer running, I run it in private mode so it doesn't log me out when I close the session it stays active. I just obv don't see the chats when I don't have the page open. :p

Discord servers are used by the vast majority of online communities, not just gamers, there are 250 million Discord users world wide. In 2012 there was apparently 400,000 irc users, probably down to about 100k now. Not sure why any community would choose to use IRC over Discord these days considering how easy it is to set up and the amount of functionality you gain.

You don't have to come in here to tell me that I already know it. There is also an OcUK Discord server already set up called underclockers if you really interested.

There are people who don't like Discord and prefer IRC style basic chat functions without the stuff that comes with Discord.
