new job, NCR - field engineer

I used to work for them as a contractor..
they offerd me a full time role but the money they pay is rubbish
Easy job but the call handlers make it hard because they don’t understand the lay out of areas..

also the part managment is a nightmare..

Such as i would be at Tesco’s in the Gower in Swansea to basically switch the till on.. They would send me another job in Weston supermare I get there and then they would send me to Herefordshire so that was the hard part...

the install side of things is a good screw

have you got to go to Peterborough for the training??

if you do say hi to ******* Barry for me

The hotel they put you in is a dive

Good screw?, you mean a lot of parts to assembly or quite an easy job?

Yeah, 3 weeks in Peterborough. Looking forward to the hotel now  lol. It's a hefty drive down there for me so It probably won't make much sense coming home at weekends, hotel dive it is then.

Hey it may not be the same hotel

which one is it??

umm i loved the istall's
but bare in mind you start at 4/5 pm
and not finish until may 12/1 am

if barry trains you he is really good and there is another guy and for the life of me i cant remember his name but i reckon he was special forces or some thing

the most boring part of the training is the blackberry training the whole day..

which area you covering

Not got any info on the Peterborough training as yet, just the training last for 3 weeks.

Special forces, getting sent on the long drag?.

Looking forward to getting the training out the way and getting stuck in to be honest.

i hope you enjoy it mate

I loved it but it became a bit of a drag after a while for me
having a young family and things i would have stuck with it
but it was kinda come on the books or else no job and at the time i was chasing the ££££

so i could own my house with out any mortgage

i was getting lots of ££ doing install think £600 a install
and around £ 1500 a week for the field job

Thanks mate, obviously being employed directly I won't be getting anyway near that sort of mula but it's a hell of a lot more than I was getting out of work.

very co-incidental post - I work for NCR in the Peterborough office and heard today they had employed 50 odd new engineers.

you wont be working for Barry will you by any chance?

I work with Field Engineers every day, some of which are NCR (Generally EMEA or Japan). You going to be working on any networking/infrastructure soon? :)

My business card says "Engineer" I didn't make that distinction, tbh as long as thy pay me I don't care what hte job title is :p

My job title also has engineer in it, however it's by no means an engineering role to most, but I have a degree in engineering.

I'm confused :p

Hi

I can send you Barrys email if you can let me know how to pass you it without posting it for the world to see :)
