Recently i asked about peoples opinions on Surrey, the reason was due to me being offered a new job :D

Well, its taken a small while to sort the paperwork out, but now ive officially accepted the role and handed my notice in at my current place of work :D

Feels weird, but its the right thing to do in all manner of thoughts.

Friends Provident here i come!!!

yay me :D

New job - Senior Systems Engineer / Genesys Consultant. Not sure why its tagged engineer as its more development/consultant really.

Some people on here may work in a genesys environment for call routing without knowing it.
Not sure where we are moving to in Surrey yet, were looking to rent, places like Horsham / Crawley seem ok for the money. Were driving up on Tuesday to have a good look around, see what we can find :D

thanks
thanks
thanks :D:D:D

Eurgh is that as in Genesys soft phone? I'll pay you to take the company down from the inside if so.

hehe, in all honesty if a company uses genesys softphone i would be suprised, its a basis to be built on or improved upon once in the working environment.
but if you have the softphone then no doubt your routing and framework is all Genesys, which i do deal with :D

cheers rotty :D

It wouldn't suprise me if our company buggered it up internally. Our call routing is just atrocious. Still it's not your fault, but i feel better blaming you :D. My work sucks, which is great since it was my last day today \o/.

Ladbrokes technically, but I’m paid and outsourced (woo!) by Vernons. But I’m not sure which side does the IT for our call centre, I assume now we are pretty much all Ladbrokes agents it's them.

I can't begin to describe how dire our IT situation is though. Somebody (probably high up) decided implementing an upgrade to the software we totally rely on, was fine between 9am and 6pm today. All day we were doing everything manually which probably takes four times longer than on the PC, plus the way we work (gambling industry) as a race/event goes off we get an influx of customers, but being manual we just can't deal with them . Honestly they’re useless, and when the software came back online and these big improvements had been implemented, they had changed 2 big things at the most. It's a general VB app, I fail to understand how this was so complex why they couldn’t test it properly before hand, and most of all why not AFTER the racing football and everything today???

Useless I tell you, and that’s just the beginning. So if you've got anything on us, do tell now please, it would be a laugh :).

hehe interesting, i was going to apply for a genesys development role with ladbrokes, but it wasnt as good a package (infact nowhere near!) as the one ive now taken.

as much as the package i have and job is good, theres other good things about my new job.

on site there is:
9 hole pitch and putt
4 tennis courts (2 grass / 2 hard)
2 squash courts
minimal gym (mostly cardio i think)
social club and bar (bar not open until evening)
few pool tables
sportshall with all courts marked out

madness!

I can see you're planning your hard work already :D

Avoid Ladbrokes like the friggin' plague, really, it's a shoe string operation. Probably drive a developer up the wall, for instance our desktop PC's take on average 2+ minutes to load, they all P4 with the odd pIII systems 256mb+ mem etc... Spec is very good for what they do. The problem, literally thousands and thousands of lines of unused code in the startup scripts where thing have been added and improved without removing the old. Now theyre scared to touch anything that they left because they don't know what depends on what. The whole thing is a farce and it annoyed me the second i joined there couldn't wait to get out.

/Calms down, remembers he's left.
