Lovely? It looks pretty tatty to me, lovely shiney steering wheel as well.
And in 6-12 months time nobody will be interested in selling him a warranty so when it all goes wrong, which it will, he'll need another loan just to fix it.

BMW's have Straight Six engines not V6's.
I don't really like jags tbh, i can appreciate them, but i wouldn't want one.

Seats, steering wheel, paintwork doesnt look brilliant. A lot of it might be the crap photos but nothing there makes me think 'Wow, thats a minter'.

That could be glare of the camera on the steering wheel, the seats dont look too scabby. Mat looks a bit ropey though.

No it really doesnt, assuming he has holiday its about 19k per year. Diesels are not really going to return better value, given the, running costs, likely age and mileage of a suitable quick one in this budget.
well to put it into perspective, when i worked 1 mile from work, i still put 25k miles on my audi in 2 years

I dont see any issue with the diesel requirement here.
I do think though that a 5+ year old car you'll take towards 100k reasonably quickly is a bad thing to buy on finance. It's going to break, you wont have a warranty and its going to cost big money to keep repairing.
The complexity of these cars keeps increasing but the reliability doesnt seem able to keep up.
I wouldnt want a diesel BMW with iDrive and an autobox without knowing it'll be under warranty for my entire ownership period.
Sadly that means buying one newer than 5 years old and with less than 77k miles on it.
