New Laptop budget £600

Hi guys,

I need a new laptop and £600 is my absolute maximum limit. £500 is prefered. It is for business use mostly, doing finances and bills so excel more than anything. I am obviously after the best I can get for the budget but I'm flexible. I have been looking at machines by Dell, Advent, Acer and HP so far. Is there any reason that one of these brands is superior to the other, ie build and screen quality, battery life etc. I will sacrafice processing power for a better screen if one brand offers noticably more than the other.
Obviously don't place any links here, just the brand, model and an approximate price will be great.

Acer Aspire 5633WLMI Core2 Duo (LX.AU30J.090) can be had for £470, not the strongest of laptops but certainly good value for money.

I would add an extra 512MB of ram to it to make 1GB, it should then be around £495.

How about the Dell 640m. With large battery and full spec i get it at about £560 delivered. What is dell's build quality like?

Dell machines are generally good, though the support is poor.
