Hey all!

I'm super-excited about these two games, which are out mid-November and late December.

The perfect excuse for a laptop upgrade...

Currently, I'm running an i5 and 960m, and I think a GTX 1060 will meet my needs in terms of budget and resolution.

I mostly game on the laptop itself, so 1080 is all I need.

Sometimes, I use a 29" wide 2560 x 1080 to game, so I need to handle that too, but that's only 2.7MP, so shouldn't be TOO hard.

Is there anything being released in Nov/Dec that's worth waiting for, or shall I just get something now?

:D

I'll probably get one custom-spec from a UK custom PC competitor - but if anyone has any recommendations for sticking with ASUS etc., then I'm all ears.

Budget?
Need thunderbolt 3?
Care about windows hello?
Any other tasks it needs to perform?
Is battery life important?
Are aesthetics important?
Want high refresh rate?
How much storage?

Budget is a cross between wanting the cheapest with a 1060 (about £850 I think) and wanting all SSD drives (about £1500). Let’s face it, I’ll probably go to the top end of this!

Thunderbolt would be nice, but not essential.

Don’t care about Hello.

Gaming only.

Don’t care about battery life.

Don’t care too much about aesthetics.

1080 screen on the laptop is fine.

Don’t care too much about its refresh.

Monitor has FreeSync, which I guess only works with AMD GPUs, but only the frame rate matters for me, so whichever GPU gives the best performance for the money.

Storage ideal would be 128GB SSD for OS and 1TB SSD for games etc.

Best thing to do is go to the ocuk store, click on laptops and then select Nvidia gtx 1060. They group their products very handily.

For me it’s worth spending the extra, I’ll probably be getting the Aero 15x or Razer Blade 15. They’re more expensive but with a 1070, 144hz screen and plenty of bells and whistles, it should last for years. It’s better than my main rig ffs!

The sabre looks good for the money, has an 8750h, SSD and HDD : https://www.overclockers.co.uk/giga...d-intel-i7-8750h-gaming-laptop-lt-08y-gi.html

OK, this is at the top of your budget but you are not going to get a TB of SSD anywhere outside of a boutique laptop builder at this price point.

Latest 6 core I7
GTX 1060
500GB SATA SSD for OS/Apps
1TB PCIe SSD for Games/Storage.
Mechanical keyboard
144Hz display
3 year warranty

If any of the manufacturers can beat this for you, take it.

(They won't ;) ).
