New Laptop HDD, can I just mirror the old one ?

Hi,

I have an oldish Dell laptop, I could do with expanding the HDD from 120 to a 500 or so.

Is it possible to mirror my old disk on to the new one ? I wasn't provided a CD for Vista from Dell, will the OS boot ok if I just mirror the drive ?

Should do, i used Terabyte mainly for my mechanial drive images http://www.terabyteunlimited.com/index.htm, also Acronis etc..
