Somewhere in Control panel > Power Options > Power management. On my sony vaio its under power options > VAIO Power Management.

As the post above said tehre normally is an Fn key, then on the number keys something looking like a sun basically :P

But some laptops do go dimmer when they are running off the battery.

Maybe...It could sadly be a faulty screen.

See how it runs after a while, otherwise contact Dell i guess and see what they say.

i think i upped to full properly.
i forgot to say im outside (in the shade).

actually i think im getting used to it.

thanks for the help guys your always there, even in the garden lol!

That's cool, tell us if it gets better etc, if you were in the garden it could just be the sun ;) hah

nah seems loverly now. panic stations over :D

nice little laptop for £500 delivered.

core 2 duo 1.7 ghz

1 gig ram

15.4 " screen

80 gig hard drive.

its only to use in the garden of an evening as it gets hot inside in the summer.

just need to uninstall the rubbish it came with now hehe.

in windows power managment, found in the control panel, select the 'always on' profile, this should work.

jake

Probably not wise, this will force the CPU to run at full speed all the time, reducing battery life and increasing heat.
