New LCD

Just received my new HD 32' LCD

Hooked it up to my PC first and boy the picture is awesome! however once connected up to my Digihome PVR160Gb HDD freeview box I cant believe how terrible the quality of the picture is

are LCD's really this poor? Anything to improve this? my 17' tube TV blows this away!

when you say terrible do you mean very blocky?

I have this problem aswell, not too bad when your stood back from it. I think its just the way of the LCD!

Yep, as you say up close looks very poor further back you cant notice it as much but its still grainy, looks as though the channel isnt tuned if you get what I mean.

Edit/ I found a site with custom settings to make the picture more watchable it seems you need to tweak most LCD TVS out of the box, looks much better now

I was surprised too at how **** the image quality was from SD sources, with a bit of tweaking it now looks OK but far from the picture quality I had with my old 21" CRT.

I've got a 26" Sony so I can only feel sorry for people with TVs twice that size, I imagine the SD PQ must be terrible.
