Will any new mobos accept my old CPU (see sig). I'm pretty sure the mobo has gone and I'd prefer to keep the cpu if I can but have an option to upgrade to the new Sandybridge chips if possible. Are there any mobos out there which can do this?

Hi. First post, so pleased to meet you all. Great site.

I also have a new mb old chip question. I have a q8300 running at stock speeds in an oem acer motherboard (acer g43t-am) with an oem version of windows 7 hone premium. The motherboard an processor are the last pieces of my packard bell ixtreme (grr). I'm looking at the option of changing the motherboard to another 775 one that will support the q8300 and ideally have 4 ram slots (ddr2 is fine).

So assuming I can find one I can afford, what kind of issues am I likely to face if I just do a direct swap? Will the pc still boot? What will happen to my oem windows? Wil drivers install themselves? Sorry, basic stuff, I know, but help would be much appreciated before I take the plunge.
