was lookingat getting this but realised it's pci-e only run 8x by 8x Gigabyte GA-MA790GPT-UD3H AMD 790GX (Socket AM3

do gigabyte do a full 16x by 16x also want something with onboard vga as backup if my main card fails

Have a look at this motherboard from Gigabyte which I do believe is dual 16x but does not have on board video.

The difference between 16x & 8x is about 3 -5 % ~ in performance.

Thanx only just seen ur post but doing some reasearch earlier seems about the best board to go for so i added it to my shoping list
