new monitor doa?

just plugged in my monitor and right from the word go all the colours and pixels are distorted, get flickering lines of pixel aswell as long lines when moving a open window about. it just looks terrible

. Sound as though its dead? its an lg 226wtq

all it says when its not plugged in is to check cable connection.

Ok then tis not a power issue. Do the gfx work on another monitor?

Had an issue like this before and it was the gfx not the monitor.

yeh the gfx works fine on the other monitor. ive also tried the monitor on my parents pc....exact same deal. it even has this distortion when posting and in the bios so i dont think its a driver issue.

If the monitor dose'nt work on your parents PC, then it's definitely the monitor at fault. Maybe a it's a faulty cable? Try checking the cable for signs of damage. Other than that it sounds like an RMA to me.

ok will try cable, however same happens on both digital and analog cables. i also cant change the phase or clock in the osd as they are greyed out (dont know whether this will make a difference)
