I bought this recently-

Asus VW193S 19" Widescreen LCD Monitor - Black

but it only came with (what i assume is) a european plug, any ideas with what i should do? can i use a UK plug without it exploding?

Ta!

buy a european > uk master plug adaptor from argos for a couple of quid. or get in contact with whoever supplied it to you and ask for a monitor with a uk plug. All depends on whichever option you would prefer. Monitor will work just fine on the euro > uk plug adaptor.

It was supplied by ocuk, obviously. it takes a standard 3pin kettle type plug, if i used my old monitors cable would it asplode into a million pieces?

It should work just fine, however..

If there was no UK plug supplied I'd check the input voltage rating of the monitor (should be a sticky label on the back) to make sure it excepts 230volts. May say something like 100 - 240v ~ which means it'll be fine.

ya, thanks guys, i advised ocuk, hopefully they'll send me a spare plug as im using half of my xbox360's power cable atm. ._.

No all country's have the same voltage as the uk in europe, but however they do all run at 50Hz and as most electronic items are rated 110-220volt's it will not be a problem.

Let me know if you still need one as I've got about 20 of them knocking about from a recent CRT > TFT upgrade at work.

Happy to pop one in the post to you if it helps.
