which was the exact point I was making.

if there is an incentive, it will be entirely down to a board partner.

Creative also did when they used to sell Nvidia cards, but that was around 1998, got Tomb raider.

Sapphire have done also, but that's going back to the 4890's - Battlestations: Midway.

HIS have done also, can't remember what I got now, but was with the IceQ3 series.

EVGA: Simple, if they sell via their website, they make more margin. ;)
Zotac: Simple, they need to grow their market share, so need an incentive to attract customers over other brands, hence free games and 5yr warranty.

RJK is true that incentives that have true value (free games) are done to help improve sales or win market share.

So NVIDIA or AMD will not do so for brand new cards where demand is high, they will save any promotion until later to try and hold the high sales up.
 
Hi, I just read about the promotion of getting a free game with a qualifying purchase of the GTX 970.

Just reading the previous comments has me a bit on the edge. Just want to make sure how this will work.

SO, am I correct in saying that if I ordered one right at this moment I will get a free game code for either AC4, FC4 or The Crew?
And how do I redeem this code? Do you guys email this to me after I have ordered a GTX 970 on the site?

Sorry if I am posting in the wrong place or overthinking things!

You are emailed a code and how to redeem it when your order ships.
 
Overclockers guys were great to me on this- ordered my GTX 970 this morning before the promotion started. Posted in customer service as advised and they added a code to my order. Jackpot.

I have received the order has been shipped notification as well as an email with the subject title "Nvidia Pick Your Path".
Apart from the Dear Mr, the message body is blank. Should I be expecting a follow up with the actual code and details nearer when the goods are to be delivered/arrive?

Check your account in our webshop, sometimes the code is put in there somewhere.
