Bought this yesterday, it's 16 years old, so has clocked up a few thousand miles, but the engine and bodywork are all fine. Just needs a good wash now, and something to get rid of stone chips.

^^ Dealer had it up at £4400, but on their website it was on at £4099, so the guy honoured the website price. Traded in my old Almera, got £3500 for that, so it cost £600 in cold hard cash.

Oooh, nice! The 944S2 has a 3.0 engine, doesn't it? 200+hp?

I've always had a soft spot for the 944. Wasn't too fussed about the 924, but I remember seeing my first 944 in the early 80's and thinking "wow!"

Love the flared arches, looks like a proper motah!

Yup, 3.0 litre engine and according to the stats roughly 211bhp. I just know it's quicker off the mark than the Almera was.

Just need to get used to the biting point, as I've stalled it once or twice by not giving it enough revs. Fuel wise, fairly good at 30-35 miles-per-gallon driving at a steady 60, open the throttle though and watch the fuel needle hit rock bottom. :)

Nice, I imagine for £4000 you could get a pretty spotless one, I have always wanted a 944 (especially a convertible, drool), but the ones in my current price range are in somewhat worse condition.

What's the interior like? Leather or cloth?

That's not a bad deal :D

Boring Almera + £600 = Porsche

I think it looks superb, especially from the front! Enjoy it :)

Interior is half leather. There are a couple of scuffs and a small tear on the drivers seat, but other than that it's pretty immaculate.

Very nice - always wanted one, but with 2 kids, a focus and a bike I'm unlikely to ever get one :(

Looks very tidy for a 16 year old car :)

It needs:

De-tangoing
New rear clusters (off a late S2)
911 Turbo Wheels

And a new steering wheel, the standard one is just foul!

Other than that, I love the looks of the 944 :)
