new onkyo amp......connection help please

Ive just bought a Onkyo 606 amp to replace my Sony i had before.

The onkyo seems sooo much more complex to the Sony and could do with a little help on the connections for each of my components

Ive got a Sky HD box
Xbox 360 (component)
DVD recorder with scart RGB + component /s video

Ive also got a Optoma Hd700x projector which has s-video/HDMI/VGA and component in as well as an adapter to go from scart to VGA

Id ideally like the xbox and and sky HD box connected to both my TV and projector....Would i need a splitter for this to output to both?

Also Say im going from the xbox straight to the projector is it best to go through the amp first or bypass it all together?...same with sky HD

Also any help with how its best to connect it all up would be much appreciated as Ive got no idea

Can your amp do routing? i.e Component in and HDMI out, for example?

If yes,the hook your projector up via HDMI, and your TV up via component, the plug everything into the amp and just route the signal where you want it.
