all,

just installed my new patriot SSD and all was ok. Checked everest and it identified it as a Patriot PS-100 32gb SSD etc.

Firmware was 2.006 so used the patriot tool to update.

What i forgot to do was dissabled my Kaspersky as it asks you too so half way through it says "issue identity command fail".

so i reboot, format, try again and now the drive says SATATEST ATA with firmware 2.020. So i succesfully updated to 3.000 and it all seems ok but the name is all different.

can anyone shed some light on this please

here is a comparison with my Samsung SSD. Samsung has 55gb free on it and is heavily used.

I've saw that on the Patriot forums, not sure what its implications are. Theres a lot of people returning theres because of the firmware.
Mine updated fine first time on both.

had this responce from Patriot.

Dear Magicroundabout,

Thank you for supporting our products. Your drive should be ok, the firmware v3.000 changed the name of the drive but it does not effect the performance of the drive. We are working on the next firmware to fix that name change.

Thank you for choosing Patriot Memory.

i'll keep an eye on performance
