New PC build £1000 or below

I was wondering if i could get some advise on a new PC build, the primary use is for gaming and application/website development. The PC build is not for myself it is for a friend in work, a monitor, keyboard and mouse are required.

Hard drive i'll get a 1Tb saumsung spin point or something on the lines of that, case will e Antec 300, OS windows 7 Pro 64bit.

Thank you all for the input ill pass the recommendation onto my friend and see what he wants to do.

Just a quick question, if i was to remove the SSD would it make a large difference in performance? and if the SSD was to remain would it be used as the Windows install drive. I tend to setup my PC builds with C: Windows and thats it and a second drive for everything else games, programs etc...

I use my SSD for Windows and most used programs, all other item go onto a mechanical drive.

Personally I would not go back to a mechanical drive for Windows.
