Hi, having a bit of trouble even getting a response on my regular forum....it seems to have gone downhill a fair bit since i used it last so i thought i'd try a new site. Cant really see a build section though so apologies if this is being posted in the wrong place.

Case Antec 300 £39.99
CPU AMD Phenom II X2 550 Black Edition 3.1GHz 6MB L3 Cache Socket AM3 Retail Boxed Processor £73.74
GPU Sapphire HD 5770 1GB GDDR5 Dual DVI, HDMI Display Port PCI-E Graphics Card £130.61
PSU - Corsair 650W TX Series PSU - 120mm Fan, 80+% Efficiency, Single +12V Rail £69.00
Mobo Sapphire PC-AM2RS790GX 790GX Socket AM2+ onboard graphics 8 channel audio ATX Motherboard £78.55
RAM OCZ 4GB (2x2GB) DDR2 1066MHz/PC2-8500 Gold Memory £94.99
HSF Scythe Shuriken Quiet Low Profile Socket 1366, 478, 775, 754, 939, AM2, AM3 Processor Cooler 24.82

Parts listed are the only components needed, i'm recyclying monitor / HDD etc. Prices are from ****** as of about 3 days ago, totalling £511.70 which leaves a few quid spare for an OS and some flashy neon case fans.

Case is pretty much non negotiable as i really like the Antec 300 and i cant see anything beating it for Value. The CPU id like to try and clock to 3.7 and unlock the other 2 cores which i saw that you could do with the right motherboard.
GPU....open to suggestions i just picked the current most popular on ****** (really has been a while lol!). The RAM is a concern.. I've gone 1066Mhz as i seem to remember that speed works better with the Phenom 2's....but its been a while and it seems hellish expensive. Should i just stick with the 800 MHz which can be picked up for 35-40 quid?
The PSU is probably overkill going on what i read about the GPU being low draw....can i get away with smaller?

Monitor res 1680 x 1050. Would prefer AMD chips.
PC's main use will be gaming, specifically maxing out MMO's like Aion, Guild Wars 2 and also should be able to play any new shooters reasonably well.

Thanks in advance.

EDIT:Change case to Antec 300 i didnt see that you said non negotiable

Forgot bout them new Intels actually, ive never built with Intel but i hear they are damn good chips for the money. Only thing that concerns me bout Intel is how they like to screw customers over with regard to forward compatability which is why i prefer AMD.
Ill check the chip out though, thanks for the build.

EDIT: Actually, looking at that link, the £700 AMD build minus HDD and optical drive is pretty much bang on 600 and looks very good for the money. Even uses my fave case!

Well 1156 (i5 and i7 8xx) is not going to be getting any 6 cores and am3 will so am3 is more future proof.. Yeh 95therifles has got everything spot on really. I would suggest changing the 4890 for 5770 for future proofing ;) or 5850 if you can wait and stretch your budget.
