Ok chaps I need a new PC for GW2 everything required bar monitor, mouse, keyboard, headphones etc. Would prefer to go Nvidia if possible and I would also like to have a setup that is pretty quiet. Budget as in the title.

Do your worst for me and thanks in advance :D I would say if there is good hardware coming out around the corner then I'd be happy to wait for that (ie 2-4 month frame)

Nice budget. What resolution do you game at? GW2 isn't going to be very demanding and a much cheaper system will be fine.

Currently working working around 1920x1080. And thank you for the spec and yes I did have Ivy Bridge in mind maybe it would be worth waiting until then.

Yeah, although Ivy will be expensive at launch. It's worth waiting for a firmer release date for the game. However I doubt a 2500K will be strained, even at stock.

A work mate got a beta key and his system is about a year old, granted he is running 2 x 6950's but he had the game ramped up, however on the beta a lot of the features are disabled and they only had the game running in Dx9, i believe the full game will be 3d capable in select areas.

I would wait until full lunch of the game and final spec releases, thats what im holding off for, even though i did get my CE ordered today :D

I know im new here but...

MMO's are more cpu bassed, GW wont requir a monster GPU like a 680, better to save some money on the gpu for a better cpu, like a 2700k or even a 3930k

Also might add that a budget like that should be overkil for any mmo. Except maybe mechWarrior Online ..when thats finished that will be running on cryengine ..so a beafy computer would be an advantage :)

Maybe so but in WvWvW in PVP you will need a damn good computer if you want to be competitive (which I do) and have everything cranked up without it being a complete lagfest.

£2200 is overkill for any gaming PC.

However you'd be looking at something like this:

YOUR BASKET
2 x EVGA GeForce GTX 680 2048MB GDDR5 PCI-Express Graphics Card (02G-P4-2680-KR) £429.95 (£859.90)
1 x Crucial RealSSD M4 256GB 2.5" SATA 6Gb/s Solid State Hard Drive (CT256M4SSD2) £239.99
1 x Intel Core i5-2500K 3.30GHz (Sandybridge) Socket LGA1155 Processor - Retail £173.99
1 x Gigabyte Z77X-UD5H Intel Z77 (Socket 1155) DDR3 Motherboard £169.99
1 x Cooler Master HAF X Gaming Tower Case - Black (RC-942) £139.99
1 x Seagate Barracuda 3TB 7200RPM SATA 6Gb/s 64MB Cache - OEM (ST3000DM001) £137.99
1 x XFX 850W XXX Edition Modular '80 Plus Silver' Power Supply £109.99
1 x Noctua NH-D14 Dual Radiator CPU Cooler (Socket LGA1366/LGA1156/LGA1155/LGA775/AM2/AM2) £72.98
2 x Corsair Vengeance 8GB (1x8GB) DDR3 PC3-12800C10 1600MHz Single Channel Module (CMZ8GX3M1A1600C10) £42.95 (£85.90)
1 x Asus Xonar DG 5.1 PCI Sound Card with built in Headphone Amp £25.99
1 x OcUK 22x DVD±RW SATA ReWriter (Black) - OEM £13.98
Total : £2,030.69 (includes shipping : FREE).

If you want it to be quiet a different case and water cooling would be preferable and there's lots you may want to change like HDD/SSD size, sound card and when IB comes out a 3570k/3770k. Lots of places in that where you can easily cut money if you want value instead of just spending £2k simply because thats your budget.

I'd be looking at something more in line with Shadow Boxers build personally even if I had £2200 to spend.
