New phones... thoughts?

Fairly soon, but I cant honestly imagine what gains they will bring so early on, and I imagine (from HTC at least) it will have a completely naff battery :p

Yeah, its not much better than the original Desire so I dont want one at all really.

I was struggling to get a full day from the phone, so that's a no no for me. I also feel like the phone will be quickly replaced once Gingerbread is release.

I think I am personally going to hold out for the new dual core HTC or X12 now.

I am in the same boat when looking for a new phone.

I am currently on a iPhone 3GS.

I was thinking about Desire HD but the battery puts me off when I am currently on 70% charge with my iPhone from 7am this morning. I was also thinking Omnea 7 but then there is not memory expansion nor decents apps,,,,,,,yet.

Think I might wait a few more months and see what comes out. I know Samsung are about to announce something soon. I am bored of iPhone.

Omnia 7 looks real nice, the only thing that worries me about these new windows devices is the low storage, 8 gb on the omnia and 16gb on the HD7. 16 is workable I can get most of my music on it but 8gb is meh, this cloud idea will eat data like a mofo and with most networks getting tougher with usage it doesn't seem like a great thing. Call me old fashioned but I like having pretty much my entire music collection on my phone and the ability to have maybe 1 2 movies, tv shows as well.
If they had more storage or the ability to use micro-sims would probably get a windows 7 as my next phone.

I currently have my entire music collection (18GB) on my 32GB iPhone 4 but I only listen to about 20% of it at most.

I'll have to tidy it up a bit, its a slight annoyance but at the end of the day its not anything that would put me off.

A large appeal of the W7 Phone is the fact its Web Browser seems excellent (as well as the Omnia having awesome hardware), and with it, you can follow the development of Windows Phone, which is off to a flying start and will only get better :)

Bummer, although you get 25GB skydrive space (for photos/documents maybe more options in the future?)

I found the music player too basic atm (can't FF with the progress bar etc ) IE is a work in progress too but it should be very similar to Safari (with flash) once it's fully developed.
Still, not too bad for a newly released OS. kinda like iOS 1.2, the basics have been nicely polished ready for all the cracking features to come :D

Exactly, and I can do everything I'll need to be able to do on the phone without any trouble while getting all the great features/apps coming in future!

Just an update to this!

I had a fairly long go on an N8 and its absolutely horrible. The camera is very sharp and fast but the software is just beyond dire.

Its not just that Symbian is fiddly, its just down right ugly and has basic things missing like a portrait QWERTY keyboard  among other things.

I've got the Omnia 7 which is superb and I'll be getting a Desire HD shortly to see which I get on best with over time.

Well mate I have an HTC Mozart which I've been using for the last week, now that I'm used to the phone I have to say I'm very impressed.

The Mozart has that strange Aluminium frame which some people will like and others wont, the phone imo looks great, feels great *cold to touch :D* and a nice weight.

Hope thats not just because its been bloody cold the past few days - could turn into a hot coal in the summer
