New plans for the Sti

After swearing I wasn't gonna do anything with this one I'm afraid the bug has bitten again and plans are afoot.

Had the car dyno'd a couple of weeks after I got it and it made 330 bhp and 340 torque - slightly disappointing tbh given the spec of the car so have the following bits ready to go on this weekend..

APS Top Mount Intercooler
APS Turbo Up Pipe
Samco Turbo Inlet Hose
Samco Airbox Hose
Perrin equal length Tubular headers ceramic coated by Zircotech
Lateral Performance MD321T Turbo
PE 650cc flow matched injectors
Defi BF Guages
Then a remap by Bob Rawle.. :D

Should be good for an easy 400 bhp 450 torque with relatively low boost but headroom there should I want to go more later for around 450 / 480..

330 at the wheels? if so youll have to factor in tranny losses, but id imagine you know that.

no obvious diagnosis issues?
 
I love your car. Was that 330bhp at the flywheel? Those new bits will make a huge difference, especially the MD321T, you will be pushing 400+bhp with that. Can I have first refusal on the parts!? :D

If that is at the flywheel Im pretty surprised, Im sure the SR40 is capable of much more. I can get 330-340bhp out of my stock VF35.

330 calc at the crank..

Not really - seems to be pulling timing, plus the car was mapped at just over 1k miles on the new engine so was prob still quite tight, remap and bigger intercooler should sort it I hope.

pulling the timing back? the boost is being controlled nicely? the cars ive known in the past to knock the timing back have been due to fueling issues. any chance of a fuel pressure check?
 
Not a fuelling or boost issue according to Charlie at Surrey Rolling Road, no det or knock either - poss temp related

Would yu be interested in the SR40 then ? Have someone who have said the provisionally want it but if it falls through can give you a shout, would be after £600 for it, done less than 18k.
 
APS top mounts are v good, but you have 650cc's on there already.....dont you think 740's would be a better option?
 
Sti comes with 550 top feed pinks as standard..650's are good for 450.

SR40 realistically will struggle to make 400bhp although APS rate it much higher, most people see 380'ish with them

Sorry, I knew they were 550 pink injectors, dont know why I said 650. If youre going for that turbo, then definitely upgrade the headers, injectors, pulleys, and maybe induction. You will easily get 400bhp out of that.
Are you Bartop? Would be interested in the turbo, need to check funds etc.

very nice car and a very nice spec.... so how much are all these mods gonna cost?

ouch - don't ask ;)

tbh will get some back on the bits coming off and a lot of the new kit came with the car when I bought it so taking that into account with fitting and remap prob gonna be a couple of grand or so..
 
It looks REALLY agressive from the front, side/rear profile i'm just not sure :(

Ever thought of WRC decals, or is that OTT ?
