Alright folks!

Looking to build myself a new system. Currently have a P4 3.0ghz, 1gb ram, 9200 (i know i know), pretty damn crap, but its done me for the past few years. I haven't played games for ages as I stopped when I was failing uni for playing counter strike every spare minute lol. But I would like to play some of the latest games which my current system wouldn't even touch!

Anyway, here is proposed new spec. Is it worth going for slightly cheaper MOBO and RAM? Ideally I would like to reduce the price by about £100, but its not a major issue. Also it it worth spending the extra on the 620w PSU?

only thing missing on the list is monitor. I was looking at the Samsung 24" for a bargain price of £330odd at the mo. Any good? I read some people rate the dell better?

Also I am in no rush and will probably purchase anytime from now till xmas. Is there anything new on the borderline worth waiting a bit longer for?

Cheers for any help! Much appreciated!

spec is ok would change the Q6600 for a Intel Core 2 Quad Pro Q6600 "Energy Efficient 95W Edition... but I also rate Dell better

It is fine although you can drop the AS5, the Freezer 7 comes with MX-1 thermal paste pre-applied. As said the low power Q6600 is a better option and I reckon the case is ugly as sin but that is just personal preference. :)

thanks for the advise.

i will swap the CPU for the lower power option and also scrap the paste!

what is the P5K mobo like?

As for the case...im quite picky, but I do like that one. I am open to other recommendations though...? :D

thanks again!

I tend to like plain cases so I'd be looking at the Lian-Li PC7+, the Antec P182 or the Akasa Eclipse. Any of them depending on budget and requirements would be my choices at the moment but don't change it just because I'm not keen. :)
