Hi,

Totally new to this so excuse the idiot mistakes.

I'm converting my garage into a mancave :) and would like to use a projector, couple of questions,

The only wall I have available is 2m x 2m as the rest either have a window in or piers from the garage walls, the furthest away from this wall is 3.7m.

I'd like to use my 360 and watch movies / tv etc, what would you recommendation be for a projector around £200 - 300, not fussed if second hand? as above I'm clueless so any help would be appreciated.

Secondly, do I need to get a screen or will a plastered and painted wall be acceptable, what colour is best, what finish is best?

Thanks

I can only advise on what I have so here goes,

Projector is a Optoma HD67n 720p DLP projector I have it celing mounted and have an Optoma 84in manual screen. This sit about 3+ meters from the projector and comes down infront of my TV. The screen is brilliant refelcts the image really well HD content is imense, plus I will be going 3D with my projector soon as it supports Nvidia 3D vision woot!!

The projector can be had for £450 online and a screen for about £75-100, I don't know about painted coatings but you would wan't somthing that is designed for the job, proper screens have lots of flecs of silver and stuff to refelect all the light they can back as the image. If your going to use a 360 a 720p projector would be best with an HDMI socket the one I have has this but also D-SUB for RGB or pc connection and s-video etc.

My advise don't buy a cheapo job of e-bay it'll only dissapoint! If you can get a proper branded one second hand that would be your best option, but be sure to ask how much life the bulb has most modern projectors have a lamp life clock built in so they can advise when to change the lamp.

Good Luck
